A Goodbye and a Hello ...
Our Current Mewd: Okay ... we guess.
What We're Currently Forced to Listen to: Seqkat listening to Audio Visions on DirecTv.Meowlo,
This is Dusty Rose. They chose me to make the sad announcement. First, we'll apologize, that's it's been nearly a year since we last posted. You'll have to take that issue up with Seqkat - who hogs the computer MOST of the time. If she's not working on it, keying on it, then she's playing games on it. We hardly get a meow in edge wise.
Okay, back to our sad announcement. One of us is absent from the rest of us in our physical plane here. Sequoyah crossed over in October last year as a result of cancer. She is on the other side with many of Seqkat's other animals, waiting for Seqkat's return. We do see her spirit as she visits. Her absence, really pricked Seqkat's heart. She really had a hard time with it, and grieved heavily. She doesn't know it, but I catch her at times, still softly crying. It is a sad thing to witness, your owner being sad. Especially for us cats. We like to play and pick on our humans, all in good fun, but when your owner's spirit is down, it kind of forces us into angelic purring spirits.

So, that is our Goodbye for now to Sequoyah. We do miss you, don't tell the other cats I said that. I can't admit to my own mushiness. I hope they don't read this!
And now to our Hello. Seqkat didn't last a week, and prayerfully, and she even asked for Sequoyah's guidance, and everything must have pointed to yes, for she brought us back to five cats in the house. She got a new kitten. Her name is Nvnehi. Well, actually Sequoyah's Nvnehi. Now, I dare you to pronounce her name!
I'll help you out here. Say it with me now, C-r-a-z-y Cat! Yeah, that's it! Well, okay, she is a kitten - they all go through that crazy stage. Sequoyah, could tell you I sure went through it. Okay, here's the REAL pronunciation. Nuh-nay-hee. It's Cherokee, like Sequoyah's name is. It means Sequoyah's Path - which was Seqkat's aim, but it also means Faerie. Sequoyah's Faerie. That fits really well, we cats love to play with the Faeries. Laugh if you must, but that's where we Cats are so much smarter than you - they are too - REAL!Well, we hope you all had a Mewey Christmas, and got lots of toy mice, catnip, and had as much fun playing with the boxes, wrapping paper, and bows as we did. In fact, we still have a few bows about the house that we still bat at!
We will TRY - all depending on getting Seqkat AWAY from the computer to blog more frequently!
Now, if you'd politely get OUT of MY chair. I need to take a nap. Thank mew.
Cat Naps to All,
Dusty Rose

Nicknames...
Our Current Mewd: Amewsed - you will be too at these nicknames!
What We're Currently Forced to Listen to: Seqkat's CD of just a few strums of music, birds, and water like a brook running.Meowlo,
This is Mewsing Tigre. You can call me Tigre. For those of you, who don't know Spanish, you pronounce my name like so: Tee-gray. That will be important later in today's blog entry. So, say it with me now, Tee-gray! Thank mew.
What I thought would be funny is to divulge the other Cats' nicknames. Here's an easy one for our "candy" eating, (see 10 Feb 06 Blog entry), outdoor living cat. Her full name is Max-Moriah. Bet you can't guess her nickname? If you said Max - well you're way out in the park - the ball park that is! Binggo - you got it right! I know that one was hard.
Seqkat sometimes calls Sequoyah, Sequoyah-la - to Seqkat's own admission, she can't stand the name! So, um... why does she call her that then? Humans??

Sabria's nickname, is Bri-Bri. I think she responds better to her nickname, than she does her real name, though she'll come to Kitty Kitty too. And so will Sequoyah by the way. I'm too smart for that. If you want ME - then call MY name. I mean, would you respond to someone calling to you, "Here, Human Human!" I didn't think so!
Bri-Bri and Sequoyah-LA -
are so stuuupid!Jaspurr - well, he is just called Jaspurr - though I do hear my HUMAN sister call him her sexy man. What is up with that? I bet it has something to do with that bushy squirrel tail of his! Lucky cat!
My nickname - I really don't have one. Though Seqkat calls me her baby a lot. But sometimes my HUMAN sister calls me Tig. That's Teeg - that's where my earlier lesson of teaching you how to pronounce my name, comes into play. I'm not too hip on that. I mean how hard is it to add the "gre" to my name - two SIMPLE syllables - is that too much to ask??
Now, here comes the best part. Dusty Rose's nickname. Now, I know what you're thinking - after Max-Moriah's nickname. That her nickname is Dusty. Well, the HUMANS do call her Dusty, but they call her Dusty Rose, just as much. Her other nickname makes me laugh every time I hear it - which isn't too often, but funny all the same. Are you ready for it?
Drum roll, please...
Well, I'm waiting for that darn drum roll...
Dudy Rose! Ha-ha! Everytime I hear it I think it's hilarious. You know because some HUMANS refer to your litterbox business as doo-dy! Ha-ha!

Um... Dudy Rose is not amewsed! Who cares - I am!
I'm outta here! Time for a cat nap!

S*N*O*W!

Our Current Mewd: Blinded
What We're Currently Forced to Listen to: Our HUMAN Dad watching Nascar on TVMeowlo,
This is Jaspurr, the kitten. Something weird happened yesterday. This white stuff was falling out of the sky. I sat in front of the French Doors and watched it for a good while. I got a little nervous of what it could be, while Tigre was trying to catch it through the glass. Needless to say, she failed with her endeavor.
The older kitties explained to me, that that strange phenomenon was called snow, and that it seems to be a natural outdoor thing. I then remembered, I saw this stuff in December, and was lightly thrown into it on the deck! Ooh, cold! I quickly moved from the French Door. The other kitties laughed and told me to relax. The HUMANS only inaugurate the cats into the their first snow - ONCE - thank God!
TODAY. The sun came back out. And that caused us a mew problem. The sun reflects off the snow, casting all this light into the house. I'm ready to go steal Seqkat's sunglasses so I can see, as I roam around the house! I swear none of us Cats have pupils any more. We just have slits in our eyes!
Seqkat is happy about one thing. Twice the French door has been left open, but Bri-Bri, (Sabria's nickname) did not sneak out. Usually, if a HUMAN opens the door for one second, before they can say swoosh, she's out the door. Which is kind of amazing how fast she is, considering, she's a bit on the heavy side.
HEY! Are you calling me fat?
Uh-oh! That was Bri-Bri. Gotta run - she's starting to stalk me!
Kisses-N-Purrs, (I'm a kissy kitty - Seqkat loves that!)

Candy - Can't We Have Some?????
Our Current Mewd: FRUSTRATED!
What We're Currently Forced to Listen to: Fish Tank Water & Pet Birds Chirping!Okay, we really don't want actual candy. But let's explain the scenario here. Besides us 6 cats, Seqkat has a Border Collie, (translation - a dog!!!
), a horse - of those two, we really could care less.
And thank God - both of them are outside. Here's our candy. She also has a pet Cockatiel, (translation - a bird!!!!), and aquarium fully of yummy, er... fish, a gerbil, and three mice, (translation - CANDY!) And this past weekend our HUMAN sister got two finches, (translation - 2 more birds - MORE CANDY), but we can't have it.

We get to look at these critters with our mouths just WATERING. We get to wish, and desire all day long - but we can only LOOK - not touch! Can you imagine having all kinds of candy around you in your house, that you can SMELL - (oh, it smells so delicious), that you can look at, (oh, it looks so scrumptious), but you can't touch much less eat!
We Cats are signing a petition right here, that we want to HAVE the candy, not just look at it. Here goes our pawtographs:
Mewsing Tigre
Sabria
Dusty Rose
Don Juan de Jaspurr
SequoyahWe couldn't get Max-Moriah to sign it, because, remember, she's the weird kitty that stays outside. Well, come to find out, she's not that weird at all! She gets CANDY out there, because Seqkat can't stop her!
Seqkat, let us OUTSIDE right now!! Or we swear, we're going to have some CANDY inside, just as soon as we figure out how to open all these cages, and aquariums!

Hugs-N-Purrs,
